The TagZ Foods story
TagZ Foods is a Bengaluru snack company founded in 2019 by Anish Basu Roy and Sagar Bhalotia. Its main product is popped potato chips, made by applying high temperature and pressure to potatoes instead of frying, and the company says this cuts fat by about half.
The chips launched in two lines, one with Indian flavours such as Masala, Cream Onion and Salt, and one with bar-snack flavours such as Beer n Barbeque and Thai Vodka Tom Yum. The company has since added dips, chocolates and centre-filled cookies.
By 2023 TagZ reported a network of 5,000 retail stores and listings on more than 30 online platforms including Swiggy Instamart, Zepto and Blinkit, serving 22 cities. It also said its products were available in Kuwait, Dubai, the Maldives and Australia.
