The Upperi story

Upperi is a Kochi snack brand making Kerala banana and tapioca chips. Its founders say they could not find a packaged version of the chip they grew up with, decided in June 2025 to make it themselves, then signed a manufacturing agreement and had all five flavours tested by an NABL-accredited laboratory before the first packs left their Kochi warehouse.

The brand says it uses Nendran bananas for its banana chips and Kerala tapioca for its tapioca chips, fries both in rice bran oil, and seasons them with spices. It states that it uses no palm oil and no artificial additives.

There are five flavours, three banana (Classic Salted, Masala Twist, Barbeque) and two tapioca (Peri Peri, Sweet & Spicy), each sold at ₹69 for 70 g through its own online store.
