The Peping story
Peping is a Bengaluru beverage startup founded by Chirag Maheshwari and Prateek Maheshwari. It sells low-calorie prebiotic fizzy drinks and probiotic shots meant to be drunk daily. In 2026 it was reported as stocked on Swiggy Instamart, Zepto, BigBasket, First Club, Namdhari's, Ratnadeep and in over 200 retail outlets across Bengaluru.
The company built its own production facility from off-the-shelf components and brought soda canning in-house. It says it wants to make a shelf-stable functional soda at an affordable price, suited to Indian tastes, rather than a niche kombucha or a children's probiotic drink.
For the Peping Fizz cans, the brand says its fruit juices come from Patna and North East India and its fibres from Mumbai, Pune and Ahmedabad. The fibre blend is mixed at its Bangalore facility, and the finished drink is made partly in South Bengaluru and partly in Mumbai.
The probiotic shots use a Bacillus coagulans culture that the brand says comes from Hyderabad, blended with juices such as ginger, pineapple, orange, fennel and coconut. Pasteurising and bottling happen at its processing unit in South Bengaluru.
