The Millet Amma story
Millet Amma was incorporated in 2017 and grew out of founder Ruchika Bhuwalka's kitchen, when she began switching her family's meals to millets. The name was a nickname from her husband for the millet dishes she kept making.
It started with a barnyard millet dosa and idli batter shared with friends and family, who eventually asked to pay for it. Bhuwalka told The Better India that the products are handmade from organic grains bought from about 300 farmers in Karnataka.
The brand is based in Bengaluru, and its fresh dosa and idli batters are delivered in Bengaluru only. The wider range covers millet grains, flours, rava, poha flakes, breakfast mixes, pasta, noodles, pizza base, lavash and cookies, sold through several channels.
