The Open Secret story

Open Secret was founded in 2019 by Ahana Gautam, who the company says left a job in the US and moved back to India to start it. Its first product line was nutty cookies.

Beyond its own snacks, the company runs a platform that lists products from more than 100 other food and drink brands, and says it has expanded into 15 categories.

The company says more than half of its workforce is women, including on the shop floor where its products are made.

Inc42 reported in 2026 that Open Secret sells online, on quick commerce apps and in more than 500 retail outlets, and that it planned to grow offline and focus on savoury snacks such as chips and namkeen.
