The Troo Good story
Troo Good, legally Mformillet Foods Private Limited, is a Hyderabad millet snack company that says it began in 2018 with a focus on taste, affordability and nutrition. It says it started out selling 4,000 millet snacks a day and now sells about 2 million millet chikkis and other millet snacks every day.
Founder Raju Bhupati comes from Amalapuram in Andhra Pradesh and worked in the US IT sector as global delivery head of a firm before starting a new venture in 2012. The company credits him with creating the first millet chikki, a bar of millets, peanuts and jaggery, and pitches its snacks at low prices, some at 5 rupees.
By July 2023 Troo Good made its products in five facilities across three states: Hyderabad in Telangana, Rajahmundry in Andhra Pradesh, and Awari, Bijapur and Durg in Chhattisgarh. The trade report said its millet chikkis were in over 30,000 outlets, from kirana stores to modern trade.
Besides chikkis, the company makes protein bars and nutri bars. In October 2024 it raised $9 million (about ₹75 crore) in a round led by Puro Wellness, which Inc42 said took its total funding to around ₹130 crore.
